ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ is #CelebratingSocialCare this April and is encouraging all social care organisations and people working in social care to join in.

The #CelebratingSocialCare initiative was first ran by ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ last April and following great engagement across the social care sector last year, the organisation decided to run the movement again this year.

The purpose of the #CelebratingSocialCare movement is to encourage everyone to take time to recognise the hard-work and skill of people working in social care, and the vital contribution that people working in social care make to our society.

ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ will be running the #CelebratingSocialCare activity across their website, social media, and other communications channels and will be sharing a selection of good news stories from people and organisations across social care.

They’re also encouraging as many other people as possible to get involved on social media by sharing your shoutouts, thank you messages and good news stories. This might include:

  • a well done to your team, colleague or manager for a recent achievement
  • a thank you message to a colleague for helping you out
  • sharing a recent initiative or achievement for your organisation
  • sharing news from an event or activity that you’ve recently run within your team or with the people you support
  • recognising your own hard work and sharing your achievements
  • or simply sharing what you love most about working in social care.

ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ has produced a selection of assets to support people with joining in with the celebrations including social media images, suggested social media posts, email banners and a template for sharing a blog post on your website.

All assets can be found on the ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ website.

Oonagh Smyth, CEO, ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ says:

We’re delighted to be bringing back our #CelebratingSocialCare activity again this month, after seeing great engagement with this initiative last year.

At ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ we celebrate social care every day working closely with the people who work across social care, but we feel it’s important to create this specific occasion to encourage people to really take some time out to recognise the hard work of everyone working in social care, including of course, themselves.

As part of this campaign we’ll also be celebrating the people who draw on care and support, and sharing insight from people about how social care supports them in living their lives how they choose and doing the things they love.

We’re very excited for the celebrations to kick off and we hope as many people as possible will join in.
