This #GoodNewsFriday we hear from Borough Care about their celebration event to recognise staff who’ve completed the Care Certificate.

Borough Care are passionate about supporting new colleagues and recognise the wealth of knowledge, skills and competence required to complete the Care Certificate.

Because of this they wanted to recognise the hard work and commitment of new colleagues completing the Care Certificate and have started to hold a celebration event each quarter to celebrate colleagues completing the certificate.

As part of the event, the organisation also celebrates colleagues from catering and domestic support service roles on their completion of role specific components, such as the Level 2 Food Safety Awareness Qualification.

The celebration event is hosted by the CEO and a light networking lunch is provided. Colleagues from all levels and roles within the organisation are brought together to celebrate success and talk openly about further progression and opportunities.

This is often a great opportunity for colleagues to meet up with other colleagues who started at the same time but may work in different homes or departments.

The Care Certificates and awards are given and options for further development are discussed.

Positive feedback about each colleague from their line manager is shared at the event as a personal recognition of each individual’s contribution.

Nicola Chatterton, Learning and Development Manager, Borough Care says:

I am so proud to celebrate the achievements of my colleagues. Colleagues work so hard to complete their Care Certificate and it is such an important foundation for work within the adult social care sector. I am so pleased that Borough Care recognises this achievement and celebrates such milestones. The event also supports and encourages colleagues with future development opportunities which again makes me feel so proud to work for an organisation that champions learning and development.
